BBQ'ing my butt

Wearing Jeans will also save a little more of your skin. Besides, sweaty slick legs would make it a little hard to control the bike.
Sweat dries quicker than road rash heals. But hey, it's your skin.

Well thanks for all the responses, and thanks for the welcome to the forum.
Here I thought the F4i was the perfect bike. D'oh!
Has anyone had any experience with using racers header insulation to cut down on the amount of heat in the engine compartment to see if that makes a difference in the amount of heat in the @$$ and crotch?
Has anyone ever done any venting to the underseat area to help flush the heat?
My other bike has a heated seat, but atleast I can turn it off.
BTW, I've bounced off the street and track a few too many times. Full gear all the time, track or road. I have 4 helmets, 2 jackets, 2 pants, 1 set of race leathers, gloves and boots that can attest to the fact that CRASHING SUCKS! Good gear or go home.
Thanks again,

you know...i'm not sure if anyone has ever tried that...i think i just got used to it because ever since the first summer of having the bike, i've never had this issue ever again, even at 100 degree trackdays
that aint nothing.....when you live in las vegas and have 120+ days, you should see what my thighs look like when i get home, they are BEAT RED through out the whole summer...one day it was so bad, iwas stuck in traffic and serously felt like i was searing my thighs, i barely made it home ran in the door ripped open the freezer grabbed the only food i had in there which was a frozen bag of peas...ripped off my pants stuck the peas in between my legs and screamed like a 4 year old gettin slapped in the face with an iron.....but hey, i made it. and now my thighs are stronger then ever!
Check the inside of the fairings and be sure they still have the heat insulation. My F4i hits the same temp. mark but I have never had the fairings as hot as you are describing, never too hot to the touch.

My legs arent on the fairings. They are behind them. My legs are pressed against the tank unless you have some gargantuan legs.
My Fairings don't have any insulation since I am running fiberglass. I do get a nice blast of hot air out of the side vents. It's really noticable when I am wearing mesh pants.

Bringing this thread back from the dead. I was on a 130 mile trip today, my bike temp never got over 200 degrees - usually around 180 on the highway, but man o man did the seat get hot for the last 30 or so miles - almost too hot to even sit on. I was also riding with my girlfriend so she was on the back burning her buns up too. I couldn't move around too much (or stand) since she was with me - so I need to figure out a way to keep myself cool - has anybody come up to a solution for this?
fyi I have an 06 with just over 2,500 miles.
