Default Battery charging issue

Hi,

I am using an Honda CBR F4i (2004). Since last few day I am having the problem of battery charging.

I checked the alternator output and it gave me 38 volts AC @ 5000 rpm, but as per the forums this value should be around 50 volts AC. So I changed the stator but there we no changes in the readings ( it gave 38 volts AC @ 5000rpm). Then as stated in the engine service manual, I checked the stator and got the following results:
1. The resistance between the three yellow wires of the alternator were 0.6 ohms (should be between 0.1 ohms to 1 ohms as stated in the service manual).
2. There was no connectivity between the yellow wire and the ground
This led me to conclude that the stator seems to be working fine.

I also tried changing the batteries but the result was the same. The engine would fire up and will run, but the battery voltage never went above 12.5 volts as measured at the battery terminals and would start droping.

Then I went on to the rectifier/regulator. I checked the output at the rectifier and it gave me an value of 15 volts DC (which it should be giving). I also tried changing the rectifier but still the battery charging issue prevailed.

So can anyone help what could be the issue and what else to check? Could there be a problem with the flywheel? Also could a patch of rust on the flywheel cause this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Check the battery voltage at 5000 rpm, should be 14.4 V.

Possible bad connection on one of your leads.

Follow this flowchart from the start: http://www.electrosport.com/technica...ng-diagram.pdf

As I said in my previous post the battery voltage never went above 12.5 volts after firing the engine. This even happened when a put a fully charged battery. At start voltage is around 12.8-12.9 volts and then it starts dropping and never goes above 12.5 volts.

Did it point to anything specific when you followed that charging system troubleshooting flowchart that someone posted a link to earlier?
