Question banana seat problem

hello guys. i have no idea why this is happening. i've got an 04 f4i few months back and decided to replace the whole rear. i've got a new subframe, new rear cowl, new taillight, new rear fender, new banana seat, etc.
i just got done installing the rear cowl on the bike. i had to buy the rear foot pegs to mount it to them. anyway, everything is cool except for the fact that when i try to fit the seat on, it does not align with the cowl (theres too much of a gap between them). to make it all even more weird, one side has a bigger gap than the other and i have no idea why. i've made sure the seat hooks were in the right spot and all. could it be my subframe? i'm thinking that i could have installed it at a wrong angle, but is it possible?? please help!

the rear cowl is stock. i bought it off ebay, but it was from a part out with few scratches.

i've managed to fix one side so its now leveled with the other (ECU cables were in the way). however, the gap still concerns me.
i'm attahing some pictures of the gap.
