Default Bad Kill switch??

Hey guys,

I was riding my 01 F4i on this past Friday when out of no where it just died on me and would not re-fire. It has done this on me before and it turned out to be a loose connection where the kill switch plugs into the front harness or so I thought. When I got it back home and started to tear into it this is what I found: While wiggling the connection it would either prime the fuel pump but then not crank OR crank and not prime the fuel pump. I was able to start the bike by unplugging the kill switch and jumping the white/black and black wires together at the front harness and push starting it. It sounds like its a short somewhere but I don't know if its the kill switch or the harness going to the ECU.

Has anyone else had this problem? And are bad kill switches a known problem on these F4i's?

Thanks for all your help

Well the kill switch was not the issue. I bought a new one hooked it up and still nothing. If I wiggled the connection just right it would prime then start but as soon as I moved it the bike would die. I also noticed that if I wiggled any of the 4 or 5 connections up front (like the turn signals or cluster) things would start going crazy like the back light on the cluster would go in and out, turn signals would keep flashing. Any ideas what could be causing this? Its killing me that my bike won't run in prime riding season.

I just wanted to keep everyone posted on my issue (Cause I hate when people fix their bike don't don't post it) I used this thread which was very helpful: https://cbrforum.com/forum/showthrea...+won%27t+prime

And there were 3 wire inside the kill switch harness that had poor connections. I pulled every wire out of the harness, cleaned everything up, put it back together and the bike is up and running again.
