Default Backfiring on deceleration

My 2001 F4i is backfiring on deceleration.
When I am slowing down for a junction or roundabout, the exhaust lets out one or two loud pops.
Any advice on how to solve this problem please?

Do you have a slip-on exhaust? Backfire is produced by running rich I believe and I get some "gurgles" when I'm decelerating but no loud pops with my DanMoto GP slip-on.
