Some random pictures from yesterday...

Pegs pre-drilled for LEDs before being sent off to be powdercoated:

Programming the PCIII:

Recovering the seats with CF-look vinyl:

And an awesome random picture of my handlebar:

Right now I've got a handful of parts out getting powdercoated. PCIII installed and programmed. SpeedoHealer installed, waiting to program when I've got the bike in moving condition so I can test speeds.

Tires are at the shop, bringing the wheels in tomorrow for mounting/balancing. Mirrors and turn signals will be here hopefully tomorrow. New upper fairing should be here Wednesday, and once that gets here a friend and I will start doing all the prep work for paint!

Tell me about this CF-look vinyl. I'm thinking of doing a CF theme.

You can get the seat covers off of ebay for like 50 bucks. And you just pry the staples off and remove old seat cover and strecth and staple the new. Very simple and awesome upgrade, I just did my seats in the exact same material and it looks great.

Yup, that's pretty much it. Just take your time. It's easy to pull out a wrinkle or something if you mess up, too.

I'm not sure exactly what brand and type of paint I'll be using yet. My friend works at a paint store, and we're just gonna play around with different pearls and such and see what comes out. It's going to be white, and we're thinking a minor gold flake.

Galfer rotors and pads, SS brake lines, powdercoated calipers, new Pilot Power 2CT. Yellow rim stripe will be replaced with reflective gold.

Rawr!

Galfer rotor and pads, powdercoated caliper, SS brake line, new Pilot Power 2CT. Custom 14" CF exhaust w/ gloss black tip. Frame sliders also peek in here somewhere.

Powdercoated rearsets and passengers pegs. Rear pegs have LED running lights / turn signals.

Driven sprockets -1/+1, RK Gold 520 Chain, anodized sprocket nuts

Fairing bodywork. This one's middle mounting point was actually broken off, and I shoved part of the old fairing into it. It's now one smooth piece, you'd never know once painted

Front fender, tank, center V-cowl.

Right-side fairing.

Most fairings will be painted by this weekend. The upper fairing is still getting a crack repaired and may take a couple more days. With any luck, the bike will be out on next week's Wednesday ride. If not, it'll be in the Dells next weekend.

I think I may have gotten the bug too. I recently broke a mirror and clutch lever. So now I'm thinking about sprucing up the aestetics. Are you doing all of your own bodywork? Who did your powdercoat and exhaust?

My friend Dan is doing the bodywork and paint for me - he's no professional but good enough, plus good practice for him. The powdercoating was done by www.tripageled.com, and the exhaust is a Bootleg.
