This is the high mount my buddy and I fabricated the other day.

We chopped the can about 4inches so it dosent stick out past the tail (gives it a nice deeper sound as well).

Now I just need to order the peg extender so I can ride 2up again!

BTW...its looking really good with the repairs you've done so far....keep us posted on your progress.

Yourhigh mount looks really good. How hard was it to chop the can and what tools did you use? Also what brand is that the more i look at it the more i want to try it.

Well, originally it was a standard mount that came on the bike when I bought it (Scorpion Full System). My friend works in a custom speed shop so we had all the tools and parts (pipe, rivets, ect.) we needed at our disposal. First we removed the rivets from the bottom of the can, the part that connects the mid-pipe to the can itself. Then marked how much we wanted gone and cut it with a table saw. Next we reinstalled the silver piece (not to sure what it’s called) with new rivets. We used themid-pipe that came with the standard mount and cut it right before the first bend coming from the header. The piece of pipe he had was a U pipe so we didn’t have to do any bending, just cut with the table saw and weld where needed (just taking rough estimates on how long it needed to be.) As for the can's bracket which holds it to the undertail, we used the holes where the stock tail reflector would go as a guide to hold the exhaust bracket. We used two nuts and bolts to hold it on the through the reflector holes into the inside of the undertail (a piece of scrap metal on the inside of the undertail where the bolts welt through to make it secure.) Then we heat wrapped it and fired it up! It’s kind of hard to explain in words but I gave it a try!! Before I went this route I called Scorpion to see how much a new high mount mid-pipe was.....$220...a new slip-on high mount only costs $350!!! The only thing that I ended up paying for was the heat wrap...20 bucks! I am still going to order the peg extender like I said, ^ so I can ride 2up....they are only $15 from Mircon (the only place I can find that sells them separately without buying the whole exhaust set-up.) Hope this helps....I can take some more detailed pictures if you want. Its easier to see what we did rather than reading it.

Yeah if you could when you get the time could you take more pictures of it where the undersection is. Also hows your leg position while on the bike how much room do you have when your on the bike between leg and mid-pipe?

I will have some free time tom afternoon to take them a get them posted, As for the leg room....I have enough to rest my foot on the rearset comfortably ...but I plan on adding an inch or two where the header connects to midpipe to push it back towards the tail a little bit. l like to ride on my toes sometimes and the midpipe does get in the way when I ride like that. But That should be fixed within a few days...check around 5 or 6...they should be up by then.
