Ok so yes I know my chain is shot and yes I know my CCT is shot. So my question, I have noticed a drop in mpg since I have owned my bike; about 3 months. I was normally getting about 130-140 miles befor my reserve came on. Now I'm only getting about 110 - 115 till reserve comes on. Would a spent chain and CCT cause this or do I have and underlying problem. Also I have been avoiding 5-5.5k while riding bc of the CCT noise is it ok to ride my bike till new CCT come or should I avoid riding? Sorry for the novel but I didn't want to post multiple times.

 

yes you can still ride it until your new CCTL comes. at what rpm do you usually shift? and what are you shifting at now? maybe thats effecting your gas mileage

 

You looked at the air filter much latey? I don't think it'd deteriorate that much in 3 months but when I first bought my bike I got 80 miles before the reserve came on and my filter was disgusting. Changed it and I then went about 160 miles before my reserve light came on. I also changed the plugs at that time as well.

 

No I haven't lOoked at the filter but when I do the cct it's getting changed as well as coolant flush and oil/ filter and plugs since I'm in there any ways might as well get it all knocked out at the same time
