Default After winter storage FI light on.

So got my bike out of storage for the winter and the Speedometer doesn't work. Took connector off for speed sensor and it isn't corroded or anything like I assumed so plugged back in and rode for about 20 minutes. Then the FI light comes on and my speedometer started to work again. So I thought maybe since battery was dead in storage and the speed sensor not working and when it started it tripped the code. So checked codes and reset the light. It did have a speed sensor code. I also inspected wiring and it looks fine. Once the light is reset speedometer doesn't work anymore. Everything works and it comes on, it just doesn't register a speed other than 0. Once the FI lights comes on the speedometer starts to work every time. This seems to be *** backwards to me... Anyone seen this issue before or know a fix?

That's what I have been told, I have been trying to locate one from somewhere other than the dealership because I'm not paying an arm and a leg for one. Know of anywhere I should look for one?
