I did some more searching and found some more of your posts regarding the stock/APE cctl debate. Lots of great information. I will be buying a stock one instead of the APE version.

Good call, there really is nothing wrong with the OEM CCTL that warrents an APE to replace it.

you know...someone on here was having issues with the stock cctl not extending as well...but his problem was that he took it apart and tinkered with it.
anyway, he borked it so i sent him my APE...now he's scared that he didn't adjust it right...
ape is fine, just the adjusting part sucks really bad.
i really don't care which one someone chooses, i only ask they actually understand what the problem truly is.

I agree something isnt right.Mine was rattling after 12k miles.Installed a new oem cctl,spread the pin like others posted.Mine is like new again..

If the Pin wasnt in there when you got it(you would know because it has to be removed to install bolt 8)..I say its installed to tight..
