Is adding extra oil really safe?
I had been reading some threads in the stunt section and read multiple times that if you do wheelies and things of that nature that you should put in more than the recommended 3.5qts of oil.... wont overfilling it hurt the engine?

Generally yes it isn't good to overfill an engine.
However if you're doing lots of wheelies then you need to know where your oil pump is - if it's at the rear, then filling with extra oil is pointless.
If it's at the front then, having no oil going through the oil pump will wreck your engine very quickly.
If you're doing "stoppies" then the opposite effect will occur.
