(Do that with the key on and the engine off) Now start the bike. If you don't have a stand make sure you have an empty road to ride on so you can pay attention to the display; you'll need to use all 6 gears to program it.

Put it in first gear and you can either let it idle or slowly give it some gas. I think you want to change your rev's but the directions say its ok to let it idle. All you're doing here is teaching the indicator your gear ratios. After a few seconds a 2 will start blinking. Shift into neutral, let the clutch out and then shift into 2nd. Slowly give it some gas until a 3 blinks. Then shift into 3rd gear etc. until you get into 6th.
wow. are you serious? i did not do the 1st part, so I guess that's why it was acting all weird. all I did was put it in the learn mode and click it after I get in each gear.

Man... I owe you some beer So I've programmed it on a rear stand, but what I came across is that after programming gear #1 was not recognized.. it simply showed up as gear #2. The rest of the gears work with no problems.
Here is a pic I took of the 1st gear, if it helps in any way.. I've tried programming it twice but with the same results. I did exactly as you've told me though. Would you know what the matter would be?

Did you pause in neutral when you shifted from 1st to 2nd?

Yes, I did. How long is the pause supposed to be? I waited for few seconds and shifter up to 2nd. BTW the neutral is recognized no problem.

Wow! that is bright.

Silly question, but you letting the clutch out in neutral? Not sure if that would help.

Yes. Should I not do that (keep the clutch in, stay in neutral for few secs and go up to the 2nd)? Today I was riding and the DGV was going nuts at times showing me that I was in 6th gear when I pressed the clutch to switch into the 2nd. Pretty weird.
