There is a service available that you can have a gear indicator installed in you gauges...you also get to have the color changed in the gauges as well if you choose. there is a GB on 600rr.net or you can email Browningbuck@hotmail.com if you have questions.

the 1000rr has been done as well, but i dont have any pictures ..i get a few customers to send me some

EDIT: here is one but there are many more http://www.1000rr.net/vb/showthread....851&page=2

Did you look into putting the gear display into the Neutral indicator spot? Some people thought it might be too small, but I would probably give that a try.

dayum that is an idea from the past... i keep thinking of it so i might have to give it a try... the only prob it has is the fact that the N in the stock spot would be tough to remove so that it was just a cear glass..ive thought of removing that whole piece and replacing it with new plexy glass but this is too much work, but i might do it as a special project...just havent made up my mind... for those of you wondering what we are talking about here you go. this is only a concept DRAWING

once you get the gauges back all you have to do is...... plug it in with the stock harness back in to the stock plug on the gauges (ie nothing changed) then there is a little button on the back that you will program the bike with.... it takes about 3 minutes. you will have to do this every time you change the gearing on the bike if you change how many teeth the sprocket has. other than that it is pretty simple

Wow, very simple.
I'm just curious from an engineering standpoint as to how the indicator determines what gear the bike is in. Does it read a signal from something already on the bike??
