Default 520 chain conversion question

I just purchased a Superlite/EK 520MVXZ Colored Chain & Steel Sprocket Conversion Kit from SPROCKET CENTER. They custom cut the chain for you and mine is 1 link too long. I was wondering if anyone had a good way to cut out one link with out doing any damage.
I took off the old chain by drilling out the master link. I didnt seem to do any damage other than the part that I drilled out. But on the master i was drilling on was a rivet that you flare out not the same style that is on the rest of the chain. Can I do the same to the new chain or is there a better way to break it?

Thanks

Cut off wheel w/ dremel - grind off end of pin on the extra link & push out w/ your chain tool. Done. See Incognito's how-to here on the forum.

Chain is done. Thanks for the help.
If your thinking of doing the same conversion I would recommend. It is worth the added mileage. The low end is much better.

You can get electronics to fix the speedometer / increased odometer reading.

Yeah i am thinking of doing it but dont want to spend the money right now. I am not to worried about mileage and odometer errors. Its a honda so its bullet proof and I already have close to 40k so a few more that arent really there are no big deal.
