I paid $8500 OTD for my '05 model, and that included a Scorpion EXO 700 helmet and a decent paid of gloves.

Well, here in Bham Alabama, I paid $8200 for the 05 (maroon, wish I'd gotten the gray) Added to the cost of the bike $1000 in 2 HJC's @ $260 each, Gloves, Joe Rocket jacket, and Yoshi carbon fiber slip on

I was in a dealership here in Denver, and they had an '04 to sell for 7199(I'm pretty sure) to get it out the door. I asked how many miles, and the guy said:" It's never even had gas in the tank". Black and red.

$8000 OTD is a good price. Any time you get a bike OTD for what the MSRP is you've done fairly well.

As for extended warranties, they are most valuable if you DON'T plan to keep the bike for the whole five years. Most people don't get extended warranties, and it's not like an aftermarket part that any owner of the bike can add at any time. If I'm shopping for a used bike and I find one that's got an extended warranty, hands down that's the bike I'm going to buy, even if it has more miles.

Now the question is, how hard is it to get Honda to actually come through on a warranty-related issue in year five, especially if you've been doing your own routine maintenance. Yet to be seen on my bike, it's an '04.

By the way, I bought my '04 in June of this year, used, w/ 400 miles, for $6850, including an HJC helmet, a JR jacket, and an extended warranty. I bought it from the original owner who had bought it new in March of this year.
