2001 Hond CBR 600F4i won’t start anymore
This is my first ever bike (bought it 2 months ago) so I need a helping hand, that being said I lover her and this is hurting me. Before this happened my bike would start and run fine. Unless I turned it off after 40+ minutes of riding, i would have to wait for it to cool down because when it was hot (it read around 230) it would struggle to start. Today I was going home and I stopped at a corner store not too far from my place. It wouldn't start back up.I waited for a like 15-20 minutes hoping it was going to turn back on after it cooled down but it never did. I had to walk it home.I can turn the key on and press the primer I can still hear it prime and see the lights and everything but once I push the starter to start up the bike it’s like everything on the dash resets. The bike won’t start at all. I can't even hear the bike attempting to start anymore. When I bought it the previous owner said everything was good including liquids so I never checked them (my fault, mainly because I am still learning and the first month I would only ride for like 15 minutes every other day). Im going to check all the other liquids because it looks like im out of coolant... If its worth saying earlier when I was trying to start it at the store, you could hear the struggling sound the bike does when its attempting to start fade with each try until you didn't hear nothing. After that I tried starting it a couple more times but after hearing nothing I knew I had to walk it home. I think I even tried to run with the bike and starting it like that. Any advice would help! I plan on somehow taking It to a bike shop (not too far from my house) someday next week but I would like to see what you guys have for me before I go clueless to a shop. Thanks in advanced.
The first thing I'd do is have the battery tested. Most auto parts stores will test a battery for free, at least here in the US they do. Motorcycle batteries don't have much in reserve. If you take lots of short trips, the bike doesn't have an opportunity to recharge the battery after starting it. I'd also check the voltage on the battery.
