I know that I have seen the rear seat on the '01 to '03 F4i removed and a latch on cowl put in its place. So far I have not been able to find one. Does ANYONE know where I can aquire one of these seat cowls??
I just finished the tail mod on my '04 and put the TBR high mount on it.

i purchased an unpainted one from targa new for 130, had that and the tail painted at the toyota dealer for 70 bucks....

 

yeah yeah, Targa. you can get them black from them too so you don't have to get it painted somewheres. Check out good ol ebay too. They are almost always on there.

 

Hey, you can also keep the rear seat useable. I also wanted a more 'race' style look. Instead of replacing the rear seat with a Targa, I just recovered the rear seat with white vinyl. I went to JoAnn Fabrics, bought a yard of the vinyl for like $6 (you only need about a quarter of that, I just bought extra just in case) I then cut it to match the seat, stretched it, stapled it underneath just like the stock one, and then reattached the seat strap. Up close you can tell its still a seat, but from further away, it give it the more race type style.
Just an alternative idea for ya, and much much cheaper with the benifit of a still usable rear seat.

 

I got my Targa seat cowl off of ebay for 70 bucks

Just check ebay for F4i seat cowls.

There is a thread here ---> Click! about a guy that made his own cowl. I'm looking around for an old seat so I can mess around with it and try to make one for myself instead of buying the Targa one, I think it looks kind of plain...
