I myself dunno why u would u wanna go from 180 to a 190. I mean the 180 is the most popular all around street tire, as far as handling is concerned. I had a factory 190 on my 954 and took that POS off and replaced it with a 180. I will NEVER again buy a 190 for my street bike. Those BIG tires are made for 2 things. Drag racing and sitting pretty in the parkinglots. You ever seen those Busas with the 10ft swingarms and those 240 back tires......I wonder how boring of a straight ride that is...Anyone can ride in a straight line, but lets see those fat tires play in the curves....=-)

 

So basically everyone is saying that putting a 190 on a bike that made for a 180 is not and never will be an "upgrade."

ok, i got all the info i needed, thanx guys...ill stick to my 180 tire since i enjoy riding my bike on those nice sundays during the summer. id hate to mess with my handling and regret it later

 

Good job, Jump. When I read your first post in reply I was going to reply back but in your other posts you brought up all the other technical aspects I was also going to bring up with having to change your suspension when using the 190/55 instead of the 190/50. This is a good thread. I think this should become sticky in the general tech so that whenever new people sign up and wonder about this for the 1000th time, we can just link them to this thread.
