so in a sense...if his lack of experience causes him to crash or cause an accident in which someone else's family is hurt, or he's hurt, who really cares right? it's not happening in YOUR backyard...right?
now flip it, what if someone else gave a rider your advice and in turn, his lack of experience causes an accident to someone you know?

I think one of the more constructive things we could do at this point would be to discuss the options a "person of weight" (i.e. anybody over 150#) might have as far as getting a shock and fork makeover...
Such as the cheapest options that might suffer a bit performance-wise compared to the optimal but still better than stock...
Oh, wait, that would make too much sense... (and be better off as a topic for another thread...)
