RE: 1000....
I just wanted to be part of this thread that turned out so weird.
PS: firemanron, The advice you received earlier (before things went to ****) about getting your suspension setup for your weight is something worth considering. I would guess that you are outside the "normal" weight parameters that Honda engineered the F4isuspension to account for. Heck, I feel like I'm outside the parameters at 190 and I've got the rear shock set up at 6 out of 7.
What you really need is a shock rebuilt or at least resprung for our weight ranges. Forks too of course. I think if you did that it would help a lot.
Ok, it's about time for some more off-topic weirdness...[:@]

RE: 1000....
yooooo....you can't get the stock shock to work with you if you're like way up there in weight...it only goes to about 150...
cranking the preload settings may feel 'better'...but the spring rate is still the same! the spring just 'moves less' for lack of better words, but the rate is still the same!?!?!?
getting suspension set up to your weight getsvery expensive if you have 3 meals/day and weigh more than 150...because you need suspension work, not just adjustment.
PS...university of phoenix MBAs, etc. are still valid degrees nonetheless.

Without spending any money my options are limited to fiddling with the spring rate and damping
because you need suspension work, not just adjustment.

I totally disagree with the 150 mph only. Like I said I do weight close to 240 and I have gotten my F4i to 156 mph with no problem and that wasnt even close to redline, somewhere around 9 or 10,000 I believe.

tahoe doesn't discuss squid speed issues.
to save money, i know some shops that will respring and revalve the stock rear shock...the front you'll at the ver least need to swap springs.
