Default 04 primer/paint help needed!

so i have an 04 f4i with the red/black paint scheme and i'm in the process of repainting a fairing red, as far as i know colorrite is the only way to match it, does anyone know what color the base is on the bike, i know colorrite has it but i dont care to pay the 100 bucks for it. Also would a 1/2 pint be enough to paint both side fairings once it is mixed? thanks

Are you trying to match new paint to an already painted and faded panel? If so, going with the OEM paint codes wont match. You need to take the piece up to a local paint store (Sherwin Williams) and have it scanned and computer matched. And they'll tell you exactally what and how much you need.

Will you be using a HLVP gun? Compliant?

If so, 1/2 pint is more than enough to paint the whole bike!

I did that, went to the local mattos shop, and they used their camera and software. Unfortunately, the paint still didn't matched

Sure I can go back and tell them, and play the back and forth game, but I would rather do things once. Colorite it is for me

i'm not sure what kinda gun we will be using, a friend is painting it, i would assume he is just using the average gravity feed gun if that helps at all, i'd gonna spray two fairings since i have two ready for paint

You will need:

Color Rite Primer:
http://www.colorrite.com/product/aer...rimer-1064.cfm

Color Rite Urethane Reducer:
http://www.colorrite.com/product/ure...-pint-1065.cfm

Color Rite Base Paint for Honda winning red paint:
http://www.colorrite.com/product/1090-base-1183.cfm

Color Rite Honda Winning Red Paint:
http://www.colorrite.com/product/hon...g-red-1347.cfm

Color Rite Primer - Call them and ask them about which one you need for the winning red paint, as they sell the high gloss and mat finish

With that said, I am actually returning the paint I bought from them. For the price of their products, I can actually paint my whole bike (with a different tone of red), and have some left over $$$ to spend!
