On that one it's kind of a hit or miss. It all depends on how well the previous owner(s) took care of the bike. If they beat the hell out of it and ran her hard and put her away wet then it might have some issues with it. However, there are some f4i's out there with 200,000+ miles on them. Just look it up on youtube.
Now is it worth $3,000? I don't think so. I payed $3,200 for my 2002 F4i with 19k miles.

price is high for that many miles. But then again you could get one with half the miles and in worse condition...

Like said, its a hit or miss. A compression and leak down test will reveil the engine condition. A test ride will show how the drivetrain is doing. If they cared for the bike like I do mine then it will be in better shape then 99% of the other f4i's out there. If they cared for it like most 18yr olds who have these bikes then it should be in a junkyard by now.

Welcome to the forum.

'02 w/ 50K mi for $3K...nope.

That being said, if you are still interested in the bike & the seller comes down on the price significantly, ask him to meet you at the local Honda shop for a *Pre-Purchase Inspection*. You'll pay for it - about $85-100. The inspection will determine the bike's/engines condition, needs, etc. So, you'll know exactly what you're getting. Since the inspection is free to the seller & would endorse whatever he's telling you about the bike's condition, he should be all for it. If he's not, walk away...its that simple.

Good luck & happy shopping. :-)

I would go down on price for sure, I got my 03 with 4900 miles on her for 3k. Listen to Gotcbr, that's a great idea

Thanx guys that's what I suspected. This guy said he just picked them up and doesn't know much about previous ownership. I found an 05 cbr600rr I'm looking at with only 2,200 miles.
