Before you take it to the dealer and get raped. Lets think about this. Is the front fairing on the bike and upright? Is the BAS plugged in and upright? Is the gray harness that runs down by the left air intake plugged in and tight? Is the green wire in that gray harness free of corrosion? Are your headlights plugged in? Is your kill switch plugged in and in the on position? All these things will make your pump not prime.

Hey I believe ur the guy I hit up about your prob via email per your request on CL. You can try to reset ur ECU by doing the following:
1. Turn ignition off and engine stop switch to run.
2. Short the service connector with paperclip
3. Turn ignition on.
4. Remove paperclip from the service connector.
5. The MIL lights for five seconds. While the light is on short the connector again. If you successfully erase the memory the MIL will turn off and then start blinking.

Did you ever figure out your issue? I have the exact same issue, but without removing anything. Had the bike in storage for the winter, started it up and let it warm up for 20 minutes, put it away. Went to go for a ride 2 days later, fuel pump doesn't prime, and when I turn the kill switch to on, the speedo reads 14 mph as well. What did you ever figure out on your bike?
