01 F4i fuel pump not priming
 

okay i messed up and took the headlight off the front and the back fuel relay sensor goes crazy so i bypass the tip over sensor and it stops but still no fuel pump ive wired it strait to the battery and it works i dont no if it is the diode in the pink wire i used a resistor last night and that didnt work ive checked the fuses but when ever i turn the key the fuel on my guage doesnt come on until i mve my kick stand up and down would that mean its the kick stand sensor what do u do to bypass that just wirethem together any help would be great thanks

i do believe you need your headlight so put that back on or do a search on how to bypass that im not sure how to do it myself.

I took my front cowl off this morning and my fuel pump wouldn't prime till I plugged it back in.

do i need the headlights for it to work anything would be great

From what ive read and been told the headlight harness needs to be plugged in or the fuel pump wont prime sooo yes you need the headlights. Im sure you can do a search here or over on the stuntlife.com forum and you could find a way to bypass this if you really dont want them.

If you want to go this route heres a thread on how to bypass the bank angle sensor which is the reason you need that harness plugged in. hope it helps

okay i am getting no power to the pink blue and well just the red wire is all im getting power to on the ignition an when the head light is plugged in it shows on the cluster 14 mph does this mean the diode is bad any help would help thanks

When I blew my diode my pink wire wasnt getting any power. Im not sure what the blue wire is for but I think that should still be getting 12v regardless of the diode. I dont know what to say as far as the speedo reading 14mph is concerned. If theyre all being caused by the same thing then theres another problem instead of or in addition to the diode. Check over all the wires, grounds, etc, simple stuff like that but otherwise im not sure how to fix that problem, i havent heard of anyone else with that problem and i cant find any other threads about it. okay i bought a new ignitoin from the dealer 45 dollars and plug it in same problem i get power to the pink wire while the ignition is off when i turn it on no power and my gauge says 14 mph on it any ideas thanks

$45 for a new ignition from a dealer? i paid $100 for a used one on ebay....damn. Did you talk to them about the problem? that might be your best bet. I tried doing a few searches and couldnt find anyone with a similar problem with the speedo and couldnt find any helpful info.
