Default Need a Speedo Cable!

Hey guys! I need a speedometer cable for my bike. The dude didn't finish installing the aftermarket dash, so now I have to lol and I don't want to have to take it to the nearest dealership to order one (if anyone even has them!)

nooo wait! Doesn't work that way buddy... we don't have a speedo cable, it's a electronic sensor, the gauge needs to be wired up to it... even if you got a speedo cable, you can't mount it up.

If I remember correctly, the speedometer connection on the unit is a - connection, the bike has a +... that's why they didn't wire it up. You can buy a magnetic set from the company, but that'll be ugly... let me do some research and find an answer for you... we may be able to get the - and make it +/- then ground it and connect... that's what I had to do with my Vmax's fuel pump sensor.

Edit...

I checked, the way you'll need to do it is with magnets... You can't wire it up directly like stock is. If you're balsy and are up for it we can try somenthing, but I can't promise it'll work.

Other option is just buy a magnetic speed sensor for the koso unit

I believe you have the black plug style.

Thanks a lot dude. I really appreciate it! is it a difficult installation (the koso sensor), and is that all I will need?

The sensor is plug and play into the unit (3 pronged) really simple... as simple as plug and play :P

The sensor link I gave you comes with mounting for the magnets and sensor... I believe you unscrew the nuts that hold the brake rotor and screw on the magnet in there... really simple... if you take some pictures of the bike (wiring and wheel, I'll walk you through it.)

The replacement sensor did not come with the magnets So I'll have to buy them separately. Do you know what size I need? I can't find it anywhere
