Speedo cable help?¿?
Hey guys, I just picked up a new speedo cable for my '94 900rr, when I bought the bike it didn't have one. I got it connected to the speedo itself fine, but can't figure out where in the hell the other end goes to! There's no where around the front brake/rotors to hook it up (that I can see) so I'm wondering if it connects to the tranny somehow? I haven't taken the fairings off yet to check.
Any help on this would be great! Thanks!
Mike

RE: Speedo cable help?¿?
Ok, I don't have a manual for a '94 but I do have one for a '96, hopefully it's similar?
It looks like the speed sensor plugs in on the side of the tranny, just a little above and to the right of the cover for the front sprocket. Should have 2 bolts holding it in.

I wish that was the case. I've got a Clymer manual for the '93-'99 CBR 900rr and it doesn't have anything for the '93-'94 speedo cable anywhere in the book. All the other years have an electronic speed sensor, but the '93-'94 had a manual speed sensor that has to turn the speedo cable, which in turn works the speedometer. It has only 1 bolt holding it in place. The cable isn't long enough to reach past the front sprocket. Running it through the front fairing like the book shows, it won't even reach that far. I've looked all over that damned thing and for the life of me I can't find a single place where it looks like it should mount.
Anyone out there with a '93-'94 CBR 900rr please help!!! Follow your speedo cable and tell me where the damn thing connects! I'm gonna end up riding without knowing how fast I'm going, and personally, I'd like to know. Thanks!
