RPMs getting hung up-Am I running lean?
I've got a '91 F2 that sat for sometime and wouldn't run. I thouroughly cleaned out the carbs and the bike starts fine and idles well with the idle adjustment screw turned all the way in. The problem is that when I apply throttle there is a slight hesitation at low speed and then when closing the throttle in takes longer then normal to return to idle speed. throttle response at high speeds is crisp and seems fine.
From what I've read this could be a lean condition. I backed out the D head low speed screws another .5 turn (now backed out 2 full turns) seemed to idle a bit smoother but RPMs still hung up. I read that 1.5 turns is normal, so I'm wondering if I have a vacuum leak or something else going on. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
