Yes, the part fit and I didn't need the dremmel work. It helped with the F2's long throw throttle, but it needs more. One still needs to take a second handful of throttle to hit the stops, but not quite such a big one. Now there seems to be about 15-20 degrees of rotation left unused, throttle that you have to grab a second time for, at least the way my wrist works and that of the other rider of this bike. I got the part for $28 with shipping. I saw lots of "kits" for over $100 that should work.
It required patience to get the part installed wiithout kinking the cables. I did mine all from the top, it might be easier to take off the tank and temporarily let the cables loose at the carbs?

You need to get the 2006-2008 R6 years for the 1/6th pull. Where as the part number was supplied for the link is for 2002-2005 with 1/5th pull as said in the follow up threads. I have done the research and paying for the 06-08 R6. Here is the link supplied how to make it fit with minimal dremeling.

Default Aha! Ok, thanks

[QUOTE=underground-mpyre;1187019]You need to get the 2006-2008 R6 years for the 1/6th pull. Where as the part number was supplied for the link is for 2002-2005 with 1/5th pull

I used the part number supplied in the link. Dang, now I have to do it again...but I can use the 1/5 turn one on my VFR, I guess.

I tried looking on my usual go-to parts places online, but I got frustrated with the websites' operation...I got as close as a fiche picture, but no part number or price listed...so I finally gave up and called one of the suppliers and ordered it on the phone using the number supplied in the original CBR Forum response, neglecting to notice that it was still not quite what I needed. Anybody have the specific part number handy, or a good source with a workable website to find the '06/08 one?

Just easily google it for the part number, but I did the leg work for you. The 2006-2008 R6 1/6 throttle tube part number is: 2C0-26240-00-00.

92-98 F2/F3 have 1/4 turn
HRC tubes are a 1/6th turn

1999-2005 R6 - 1/5th turn
2006-2009 R6S - 1/5th turn
2006-2009 R6 - 1/6th turn

I can't wait to get mine in and install it. Plus I am getting my 637 race motor together, with a machined 2lb. lighter 'Cbrzone' crankshaft. I will be fast revving bike to the powerband to break loose the back wheel everytime.

If the 06-08 R6 tube fits properly, this thread needs to be a sticky!!!
