Default looking for a seal expander/conditioner

Went for a ride today and developed a smoking tailpipe in a 13600k mi. F2. I swtched from Honda GN4 to Lucas Semi synthetic previous to this ride. Waste. I think this stuff is too slippery and is getting past the valve seals and rings. So I'm going to Castrol 4T, $2.60 at AutoZone. A guy I rode with today suggested a seal expander of non petroleum chemistry so as to not dry out the seals.......

Anyone have any suggestions?

So I contacted Bar's. they said to use "Bar’s Leaks Rear Main Seal Repair. Dosage would be 6oz per qt of oil capacity" when I go back to 4t.

I hope this is not going to destroy my clutch

which lucas oil did you use? they make a mc oil that isn't designed for wet clutches, make sure that isn't what you put in?

I used Lucas 10w40 Motorcycle oil Semi Synth for wet clutches. It's not on the website. the back says Wet Clutches.

AT205 is the stuff. non petroleum based seal conditioner. 4 oz. in with new oil about 3.6 qts. standard 10w40 motorcycle oil, non synth.

we'll see.

My neighbor has had good luck with this product for 4 years in his bike with similar problem. no more oil burning.

Let us know how it goes, I'd be interested to see if it helps anything....Or hurts anything.

rode 50 miles yesterday. engine temp was low the whole time. about the same as with the semi synth. 4 oz of at205 in 3.6 qt oil Valvoline 10w40 motorcycle

Zero smoke of any kind. not even on start up. not at lights, starts and stops. I need to have a friend watch behind me under load. when I returned home I opened and closed the throttle for a few minutes. This is where smoke poured out before. not a puff now.

This was the first ride on the stuff. could be attributed to the conventional oil. I should have stayed with it. A mechanic suggested the synthetic. meh...

the original problem of a short burst of smoke at start up (valve seal leak) seems to be gone.

we'll see

I've head of something similar for rings and what not, however... I've heard it's short lived, maybe 100-200 miles. Afte that the issue returns. Typically used as a way to hustle bikes with motors on the way out.

If this is different (and I hope it is) please do reprot back to us!
