Okay good advice. I'll review everything and see about moving forward with this. It sounds like a full day job in the case of some one who hasn't done it before.

Would this also maybe be a good time to replace my cam chain? By that I mean, will it be at it's most accesible at this point!

No, I don't hear much about cam chains failing on these bikes. I wouldn't worry; but let's hear what other high-mileage riders say. And even if you have a bit of stretch in your chain, your CCT will remove any slack. Just do the valve adjustment. You may be surprised at how little it requires. (or it could be all out of wack).

Anyway it's probably a morning spent taking it apart, two hours with the measurement and switching, and then another 2 hours back together. Let us know how it turns out...
