Default what brand and size chain/spockets did u use

great article....picture is worth 1000 words......
hey, i dont know really what brand of new chains and spockets to get other than oem....i have an 93 f2...so what size spockets did u go for , hopefully u stayed original teeth size etc , as that is what i prefer... and chain brand and type etc
would appreciate any info from you or other readers!

Great write up. I have to do mine soon. An input about going down in the front sprocket and up in the back sprocket? Dido on brands? if you dont mind specs would be cool, chain specs, front sprocket, rear sprocket, etc...

i just replaced my chain and sprocket (2000929rr) and i noticed the front sprocket was loose on the output shaft.(with the bolt still tight) Is that norm? The new sprocket went on the same way loose. So i figured it just supposed to be that way. Any info on this would be much appreciated. bye the way i wish i saw this thread before i bought the 130 dollar tool. i love old school

Great Guide!

I was told that you need to reapply grease to the rear axel when you put it back on.

Great how-to guide Viking. With this instruction, I was able to get a new chain & sprockets on my F2 with no specialized tools in about 2 hours.

Nice to see my guide has been made sticky.
I moved this summer and as winter is upon my bike is at storage, so i haven't really been active in the forums lately.

The sprockets and chain were purchased at a authorized Honda dealer. They are all DID as the dealer said Honda used that for all their bikes. Stock size/teeth on both chain and sprockets.

@deadfred - good idea. I always use a dab of grease on the shaft as well.

@ritter - front sprocket will go on fairly loosely as it is not a pressure fit. Just slide it onto shaft loosely. Once fixed with the outer washer and bolt it should stay firmly in place on the shaft.

Is the center stand on your bike stock? i want to do some work on my bike but have no center stand. Is that something u can add aftermarket?
