13,000 isn't bad, but if its been ridden hard, you should be looking at your fork seals. Change your seals and fork oil, and see where you end up; I bet you've just blown them and have junk compression in there now.

Woah, yeah, duh: Did you set your suspension up for your weight when you got the bike????

I weigh 145, I don't think that should be too much for th bike! Can I adjust it to be firmer?

You sure can, but they come from the factory set for 165, so unless the PO really lightened them up, you probably have a mechanical issue.

See those flat head screws on the top of each fork, where your handlebars clip on? Yeah, that's where you adjust the pre-load. Turning it to the right cranks down on the spring, causing it to be stiffer. This however does reduce travel somewhat. Turning it to the left backs it out, making the spring softer as it's less compressed, and giving it more travel.

Personally, I would do the following as your weight is fine for those springs:

-Empty fork oil
-Redo seals
-Adjust for proper sag.

Do all of that, and you'll be good to go!
