Default F3 clutch in an F2?

awhile ago i got a clutch set (frictions, steels, springs and gasket) dirt cheap off ebay and when it came in the mail the label said f2/f3. so my question is , will it work in my f2? also i read that a special tool is needed for instalation, can it be done without this tool since my local honda shop seems hesitant to rent it to me. thanks in advance for any help

ok so i did some research and found that although KG clutch (my kit) lists f2 and f3 friction sets as different part #, most other manufacturers list that the same set will work on f2, f3 , 900rr and vfr, what gives? the steels and springs will work for both models too.

It should work, I'm pretty sure the clutches are identical.

You'll need an impact gun, drain the oil first

All the info is in the shop manual, step by step... But I do think there is a step by step on the forum too.

I did a write-up a few years ago but I can't find it... All of my posts before 2009 are gone
