F2 strip down questions
Hi,
I have brought an F2 as a street-fighter project. I have limitied experience directly with bikes, although work with industrial plant. I plan to re-spray the bike, including the motor. I wanted to know what is the easiest way to break the bike down into sub assemblies? Is it possible to keep the engine/gearbox/carbs still attatched?
Also, I currently have the workshop manual (Digi) but am looking at getting an idiots guide to accompany me. Is the haynes manual for this model reccomended?

The engine/transmission comes out as one piece, but you should pull the carbs off when removing the engine.
You basically remove the bodywork/headlight/gauges etc.
Then drop the front end off (forks, wheel, brakes)
The rear suspension can all be removed as one unit (shock, swingarm, wheel and rear brake)
Then drop the engine and you should be left with a fairly bare frame.
