Default Pink Strip

Hey everybody, I couldnt find any threads on this topic when I searched. I have a 1992 cbr600 f2 supersport, and it has that bright pink strip thts only about an inch, inch and a half think, around the gas tank area. I know itsa decal, but im not sure if the strip is just a decal, or if the strip is a decal thats more than just the strip. I wanted to see if I could remove the pink strip but I dont have any ideas on how. I was thinking possibly to take a razor blade and outline the edges of the strip. then using a blow dryer to heat up the adhesive, and try to remove it that way? has anyone removed this strip before, or any ideas on how else i could manage to do this without hurting the paint underneath?

dont usea razorblade on the paint, or the outline will be there in form of a cut forever...

You can peel up the corners with a razorblade, but always face the blade parallel or away from the paint or you'll be chipping and scratching away at it.

I've never peeled mine off, but heat will probably help.

Heat helps... even direct sunlight for a couple hours.

You shouldn't need to use the razor very much... I used fingernails mostly.

also look for some 'goof off' for the sticker residue, but be carefull what kind of chemicals your putting on... could mess with the paint (make it cloudy).

I got my decals off with fingernails and patience. Just be aware that the clearcoat is on top of the decals. Bender is right, some "goof off" or other vinyl adhesive remover will help with the mess. I would not use a razorblade on it at all unless you ere repainting.

Thanks for the help everybody. Im still kinda of confused o how i should do this. here is a picture of my bike. Its hard to see but around the gas tank is that pink strip. the strip is not the only part of the decal. It is attached to the black part as well. I do not want to take off everything. I just want to only remove the pink line not the black. Any ideas on how i could get the pink strip off without the rest of the decal

I thought the black and blue was paint, on my bike the white/blue is paint but I have no strips of anything.

I think you should just leave it, it looks fine.......retro!
