easy ways to find out without ripping it apart?

under a hard 1-2 shift, or any time you roll into throttle in 2nd? Probably the dogs if it is on the 1-2 shift. Mine pops out int his fashion - and I'm assuming it is the dogs. I just "float" that shift and feather the clutch a little.

You could pull your transmission stacks out, send them off and have them machined in what is called an "undercut". Although - you can find full transmission stacks on ebay for $75ish - take a gamble there, or buy one and have it sent off, then you don't have to take the bike apart and leave it while the trans is being worked on.

No real way to find out unless you pull it apart. More than likely your shift fork or 2nd gear is worn out or teeth are missing off the gear. I am sorry but more than likely the reality.

I am personally looking for a dog gear they make for racing and can't find anything searching. Anyone have a good source?

APE will undercut just the 2nd gear for about $175 it looks like.
