exhaust help?????
so i need a new exhaust, my old one sort of deteriorated and eventually fell apart. it was a vance and hines. now im running with nada, and its loud and annoying. question for my fellow bro's is can i buy another used exhaust from another model bike and slip it on? or does it need to be a honda ? i actually have a friend selling his 05 cbr 600rr exhaust, i know its an undertail exhaust but wanna know if i can use it. please help, thanks in advance.
Won't work unless you heavily modify the frame and exhaust pipe. If your CBR has a side exhaust like my F2, it's close to impossible. These bikes weren't built for that. However, you do not need a "Honda" exhaust. I used a slip on exhaust from an 99 R1 for my 1992 CBR F2. Main point is, undertail will not work.
+1 undertail will not work unless modded.
However, all you have to do is measure your header and find a slip on used that will fit over the header. Many midpipes will come with several different bends to help them contour to your bike. Do a google search for cbr f2 exhaust, and link to a motorcycle parts website and find the brands and models that fit. I know for mine, i have a yoshimira full system, mircon slipon, and a vance and hines slip on. So there are 3 makes that sell a product tha fits.
Dont run your bike with just header, the jetting will be wayyyyyyy off and cause undue stress on your bike. Whatever you do buy make sure is it similar to the one you used to have or else you will then need to tune it so it runs correct.
