What does the noise sound like? clicking, whirring, whining, thumping?

What side of the motor do you hear it from?

Is it something you could record and post the video for us to hear?

Does you bike have a manual CCT or the stock one?

What's the maintenance history? How long have you had it, is it new to you? Has it been wrecked/laid down recently? Has it been sitting for a while before you started running it?

It's a lot of questions, but all this stuff will help us try and help you.

It's more like a clicking sound that is really noticable when the rpms are below 2000 It's hard to pin point where exactly the noise is coming from but to the best of what I can hear I would say by the crankcase or the starter. It still has the stock CCT. I've had the bike for a 1 1/2 year.Bought it with 32k now have 35k.Have done two oil changes replaced spark plugs. Only noticed noise this spring after bike run out of gas when driving when not put on reservor. After turning it to reservor I needed a boost to get it started after that is when I starting noticing the noise.

Almost sounds like once warm your starter relay is sticking and letting the starter motor run, or the starter clutch isn't disengaging possibly.

Maybe warm the bike up where it is exhibiting the problem, then disconnect the starter from the relay and see if the noise goes away.

When you got a boost to get it running again after switching to Reserve, how was it done? With a running car?

Thanks I tried that no differance.I did listen more carefully and the noise seems to be coming from the right side of the engine So I took off the CCT checked and primed it seemed functionfine then reassembled no differance.Removed spark plug from far most left cylinder found it was black with no oily desopits (carbon fouling) Would this be part of the noise problem or something else?

It was done with a pickup that wasn't running. Is that a no no to boost a motorcycle with a running car or truck?

CCT is usually the culprit to odd tapping noises. Might NOT be, but usually is, and its a cheap easy fix. Try it... Its good to change anyway because F2 CCT are crap and will not work right eventually anyway. at 30k+ miles you are definitely due for it anyway.

I agree with the last two guys, it sounds like the cct(timing chain tentioner). That ticking that your hearing is the timing chain bouncing off the engine block. There's not enough oil presure geting to that specific passage so you get that chain wth no tension flopping around. So in my case I got a manual cct off of ebay or like around 50-60 bucks...not sure, and just like that no noise... exept the valves now need adjusting.
