Engine dies when clutch is pulled in ?!
Ok guys. My buddy has a 93 F2 and he says that when the bike was at operating temp, just a few hours ago, he cranked it and pulled in the clutch and it died, and it is idling very rough. He just rode it for an hour before this happened and had no problems! He says that as soon as he pulls in the clutch it just dies. Any ideas?
clutch is slipping, could be slack in the cable that you can adjust on the lever, or it could be the release mechanism idk if they use a bearing spring or whatever on the f2 clutch but it basically just sounds like the clutch plate isn't releasing off the flywheel all the way so at low rpms or engine speed theres not enough twisting force to turn the sprocket or chain so it just dies
that's what I would conclude at least, I could be wrong its happened before

So bike is in neutral, Neutral light is on, engine is running, then buddy pulls the clutch with the intention to put in gear, the engine shuts off??? Or engine shut off when you put in gear while squeezing the clutch?

I have not personally seen it happen, but he says it happens before he even puts it in gear. He says with the kickstand up, neutral, and clutch NOT pulled in, bike will start and idle very roughly. Then as soon as he pulls in the clutch to attempt to put it in gear it just dies before he can put it in gear.
