Default Correct Sprocket/Chain Size?

I want a stock replacement chain but I'm not sure if my sprockets are stock. I know I can count the teeth (15/43 is stock right?) but what about determining if it's 520 or 530? What does that even mean, like what are the differences between 520 and 530? What number is stock 520, 525, 530, 532? How can I figure out if I have stock sprockets? Thanks in advance

Stock size is 530, which is wider and bulkier than the 520.

Usually people either do stock 530 or they convert to 520 because it's lighter weight. (but doesn't tend to last as long).

If it were me, I'd go with 530. You can usually tell by just looking at them, but you should also be able to read the sideplates and it will say right on it. Sometimes the sprockets will be stamped with the size, too.

As for stock gearing..... I think you're right on the 15/43

I believe 108 was stock on mine.

Just FYI - the size breaks down 2 ways, in 1/8th of an inch increments.

530 means: 5 eights of an inch between pins (5/8ths) - this is called the "pitch" of a chain. then the 30 really means the roller is 3.0 1/8ths of an inch (the decimal is imaginary) wide.

a 525 would be 5/8ths between pins, and 2.5/8ths 5/16ths) wide roller.

520 is the same but 2/8ths wide roller.

530 for the F2. The F3 was 530 for 95/96, and 525 for 97/98. That's according to the honda svc manuals at least.
