Default Clicking sound from front of engine?

Hello guys do not write often but this has got me stumped? When my f2 is at idle there will be a clicking sound and the rpms drop a few hundred then they go back up? It sounds like a valve actuating but cant find anything? Thought it was the fan coming on and off but its even at low temps? any suggestions would be great, just annoying

Could be downpipes more specifically a leaky or blown exhaust gasket making that ticking/clicking noise !

maybe even a small pinhole in the pipes themselves if they are corroded !

Not sure if this would be the CCT, I know my CCTL needs to be replaced but it only makes a sound when i hit 4.5-5k rpms. I see/hear no noticeable difference when in idle.

thanks for the info but its not it, when at idle and not all of the time there will be a click and then the idle drops 200-300 rpms then goes back up? like it wants to stall but it corrects it self, the rpm drop is so slight but its really annoying.

One single click and then the RPM drops? Sounds like an electrical relay clicking on and putting too much load on the stator or somethin.

That's a noodle scratcher.

Flux capacitor is out of adjustment. Happens on these older model bikes. 4-5k in sixth gear is roughly 88mph, so that's about the right speed to start seeing the flux capacitor to act up. Not quite sure why it only happens at 88mph, but Doc Browns Flux Capacitor theorum would explain it... if you can stand a crazy read.

that could be it...if the battery is weak and then the fan comes on it will put more of a load on the charging system.. the clicking could be the fan relay turning on and off ....but just a guess,,
