Default Carb question?

I am finishing up my build, but stumbled onto another problem. My carbs are leaking like a sieve. I cannot pin point where it is leaking though. I am hoping it is the gaskets but not for sure. My question is; would it be safe to remove the airbox and run the motor for a minute to locate the leak? I removed the airbox yesterday and looked at the carbs and it is all wet all around the carbs. Is it safe to run for a quick minute without the airbox on?

Well with no airbox, which contains your air filter, you have the chance of sucking any debris in the outside air right into your carbs/engine.

just keep that in mind.

are your carb boots tight anough? have you made sure your carbs are fully seated?

Whens the last time the bike was working and have you pulled the carbs apart and cleaned them?

If you do run it without the air box, use some sort of screen to cover your intake ports. Like a grease screen used in cooking. Something like that. Better safe than sorry.

Is it leaking all around, or just one side? Make sure all your float screws are tight. Good luck.

If you are just running it for troubleshootig, yank the a box. It wont hurt anything.
