After riding my bike for about a hour,my buddy and i noticed a very strong gas smell comin from my bike. We inspected my bike and seen that it was not leaking gas from anywhere so we kept riding for a 1/2 hour. After starting the bike back up we noticed the smell was comin out of my tailpipe and with that i had burned up a full tank of gas in about 2 hrs of ridin. On the ride home my bike would not produce enough power to go past 75mph...after ridin my bike in the morning i had burned up another full tank...so basically my bike is burning gas to dam fast...lol..and letting off a strong gas smell... I'm trying to get to the buttom of the problem,so any advice would be appreciated..thanks

 

I'd check the petcock, lines, and carbs. Really if it were me, I'd dive striahgt into the carbs but I'd check the petcock & the lines. I'm surprised it would run at all and your plugs didn't foul out/flood. I hope you get it sorted out though. Please update your solution, and what you found.

 

my bike always smells like gas and ***, but yours sounds like it may be extremely rich.

 

Yeah...i had to digg into the carburator to find out that the main jet screw was loose(to the point it was coming out)in the first cylinder and the pilot jet screw was loose in the second cylinder...apperantley my buddy didn't tighten them enough when he cleaned my carb's a couple weeks ago...so i recleaned them myself and tightened the screws and now she's running good agian...and yes i had to get new spark plugs because 2 where fouled out...
