If your exhaust reaks of gasoline, it means there's an excessive amount of gasoline in it.

Your bike is running rich, and you need to troubleshoot that. An aftermarket exhaust is just going to increase airflow, and subsequently spit out MORE gas smell.

if you stand behind the bike it smells like normal exhuast fumes.. i am new to bikes so what could cause a bike to run rich.

On an injected bike, generally poor airflow, or a poorly mapped power commander, if you have one. I'm not too great with injected bikes. When's the last time you changed your air filter?

Sounds like you're running rich. I have a full exhaust and PCIII on their map, which i've heard runs rich for safety reasons. My clothes ALL smell like fuel, i've gotta get a tune. If I were you I would get a PCIII, maybe a slip-on and go get it tuned. Should fix your problem. I want to get mine tuned but I don't have the cash right now. Hopefully it will be done b4 next season. Good luck.

Ehh. . . most everything else is a weird, rare (but possible) situation. You could have a broken injector that's throwing too much fuel, or a bad ECU (though other problems usualky exist to give you a clue)
