They didn't make f2's with dampers. I'm not the voice of tons of experience, but you may have to fab a bracket and weld it. I saw a dude today who had an older gixxer set up for the track and he had a bracket around his left fork, right below the top triple tree, and the damper was bolted to that. The end of the damper (it was one of the tubular ohlins dampers) was connected to a bracket he had welded to the frame. You just gotta make sure it's hooked up at the right angle so that the damper will slide straight in and out when you turn the bars.

I know some new cbrs, like the 600 rrs, have dampers installed under the triple tree and they kind of sit under where the tank hooks up to the center steering column part of the frame. It's one of the box-type dampers, which I've heard are better but that could just be bs, I'm sure ohlins put plenty of R&D into their tube-style damper design.

Quite a few companies, over the years, made linear steering dampers for the F2, so there are plenty out there - you might check the WERA classifieds site, since these are mostly racers, buying/selling/trading race parts.

WERA Classifieds – Classified ads for WERA Motorcycle Roadracing

Another good idea, would be to browse the "Vintage" section of the WERA forum, there are a lot of guys who post up threads with stuff to sell, but don't put these items in the classified section...it seems that every couple of weeks, there's an F2 or F3 race bike being sold or parted out.

Ive got a steering damper made for an F2 on my F2. I dont even notice its there. Except it doesnt allow full stop to stop travel. On a track bike that stays in the garage most of the time its no big deal. But on a street bike that might be parked alone at the theater, restuarant, etc. you cant lock the steering. The mount is a bracket that bolts against the fairing stay and of course the fork. I would think if you got one than had a weld on boss to the frame you might get full steering travel.
