Steering Damper on an F3..
Just wanted to know who all out there has a steering damper on their F3, and what make it is. Perhaps even an estimate on how much it cost you.
You see I am planning on purchasing an F3 in as little as a few months and would like to see what makes of steering stabilizer other people depend upon. I dont want to buy a knock-off of the good thing.

Man - I don't think it needs one.
Mine doesn't have one, and I've had it up to 135mph (speedo) with NO funny bidness. I'm not stunter, but I've had it on the back wheel quite a few times and came down hard a couple - no funny bidness.
Low-speed, high-speed, front end bounce - never had a problem.
I honestly don't know that it's necessary - and if you're getting tank slappers out of it - I would almost imagine you have twisted forks or maybe shot seals. I dunno - but I don't think you need one at all on these bad boys...
They're the POOP as they are!

Ranges anywhere from $192-449. Honestly I don't think F3's really need one. I've only experienced head shake once (powering out of a corner) and it wasn't too bad, didn't really notice it happened until after the fact.

Well my Fiance and I are planning on purchasing one right away for myself. He has a 05 honda 919, but this willbe my first bike, and I just dont really want the chance of speed wabble taking over. I was thinking it would make me feel a bit more confident. Is the f3 an okay choice for a beginner? I have riden before, but this will be the first purchased under my name.

The F3 will be perfect for you.
Great bike, awesome geometry with nice powerbands and sweet brakes. All straight from the factory!
You won't need that dampner unless you're gonna take it to the track and race at an advanced level... and only then for the, "just in case" factor.
The F3 will reward you for respecting and learning it as well. It will only do what you want it to and when you're ready for the next level of riding, it will be there too. I've put about 7K miles on mine and everytime I think I got it whooped, I'll push it (safely, and it's there with a, "is that all you got?"
Haha - have fun, get gear and be careful. See you on the streets!
