just got an F2... can u guys take a look at it
i got this f2 becuase i felt i was ready for a street bike, i bought a a 1981 yamaha maxim as a starter bike, to learn the rules of the road, and get a feel for being on 2 wheels, ok.. so now its time to learn to ride all over again..lol
i would like for you guys to look at the bike and tell me what mods are done... appearently it has f3 fairings and polished wheels, i got that info when i went to a local bike shop looking for rear view mirrors...
anything else?

oh.. and where the hell is the tag supposed to go?

Sorry, I can't answer any of your questions, but that's a good looking bike.
Stay safe and take it easy while you're getting used to it.

hello, nice bike i like the yellow, you have a vance & hines pipe but you probly know that i have never seen that style of V&H though you dont have a rear mounting place for your tag well it dosent look like it i just made one for my bike and you also dont have rear turn singals i also made that for my bike, your front turnsignals are aftermarket i hate thoughs, people cant see when your turning very well with thoughs little things and IMO your asking for someone to pull out in front of you i have seen it happen, it looks like someone painted the bottom of the motor black and thats all i can tell from the pictures, how much did you pay for it?
EDIT: stuff kwong2001 said^^^^ and i noticed it looks like your tail light is black stock is red

Looks very tidy. First impressions (apart from the obvious V&H, black-painted clutch cover, oval front indicatorsand stripped wheels)...
I'm not sure that it has F3 fairings - the seat is F2 (F3 seat panels don't go below the rear light unit which is also different) and I don't know if F2 seat panels would fit properly at the front if you had an F3 tank and fairing lowers.
The instruments are definitely F2, F3 has a white tacho and warning lights below - only the indicator repeaters at the top.
Bar-end weights and rear hugger are also gone. My '98 FW (UK for F3!) has silver fork legs, don't know about US).
Looks like the whole under-seat plastic thing has also been removed; that's where your plate would normally go as well as the rear indicators which I also can't see in the pic.
The yellow isn't standard and it certainly isn't an RR but looks a neat job, I like it!

how would i be able to tell if its had anything done to the engine..
i know a dyno for sure would tell me.. but is there anyway else? i pulled the fairings off to check the fluids and such, and was looking around to see if any bolts had been tinkered with, nothing i can see, except for i noticed red plug wires, is that stock?
sorry, my wife actually got the bike for me, i gave it a test ride to make sure it wasnt studdering or anything... then took it home

I would imagine it's pretty darn stock. There's really not much to do to these things except an aftermarket filter and maybe a complete exhaust, and that black pipe just before your can says it's stock.
I'm not sure what Micky was saying about the rear plastic, that's theF2/F3 (pre97-98) model rear plastic. The oval light came on the 97-98 models.
The tank is the same on the F3, and it also looks like you have a complete F3 body kit. Side access panels on an F2 have a single inlet, not two. The seat is stock - F3 and F2 seats are the same. The F2's also had a different type of air-induction - I think it came in through the sides, not the front. So the upper fairings are defnintely of anF3, which means soare the lower fairings.
The tail could very well be stock, as they didn't change much, if at all.
Looks like they removed the rear fender.
Also, it is not a Fireblade as the decals would have you believe, haha.
Like I said, the only real thing to do with these bikes is serious overhauling and it's just not economically feasible for the power you would gain.
Oh, and red is the stock color for plug wires! Have fun, bike looks great.
EDIT: Also, only the 97-98 models had a white face tach. The 95-96 were not. The forks could be just powder coated - and since your passenger pegs have been either powder coated or spray painted, I suspect the same was done to the forks.
