First trip to track with XX conversion
Last weekend was first time I got to ride/race my 94 RR with the Blackbird motor. First off let me say that motor is downright AWESOME!! Difference between it and the 900 are night and day. Torque is undescribable. Hydraulic clutch gave me fits (hadn't owned one since my 1000F Hurricane). 1st pass was a 7.31 @103mph (1/8th mile track). 2nd and 3rd passes were both 6.64's @109. I stuck my friend on it (who owns a nitrous/soon to be 500hp turbo Blackbird). His first pass on it ever was a 6.18 @111mph! I was totally impressed. My best pass for the day ended up being a 6.33 @111 and that was with just a 1.56 60ft. Best pass ever on my 945 (with head, cams, fcr's) was a 6.32 @109 with a 1.49 60ft. Mph on 6.18 pass was pretty low so I'm sure carbs need some tuning. They are pretty much where they were out of the box. I have no doubt whatsoever it'll run some 6.0's with ease. Anyone looking for power out of their RR should definitely consider this swap.

Not sure what you mean by "what have I done to back half"?? Don't let the "smooth" looking launch fool you, that thing is a b!tch to get out of the hole. Clutch doesn't like to slip at all. You pretty much have to let bike get moving before dumping the throttle. I'm slowly learning how to do it. We race in Huntsville, Alabama (1/8th mile). Soon as I get some more seat time I'm going to take it to 1/4 track. Should lay down some VERY low 9's. Still tuning on it as well.

Other than the shock, it's set up drag only. Gearing is something I'm going to have to work on as well. Gotta get it on dyno and see where it's making power and decide then. Will probably come down few teeth on the rear. Already got a line on Fox twin clicker like I previously had on there. Those are some great times you're posting! Not where I am yet. Just going off my 1/8 times, I'm probably near 9.10-9.15 mark in 1/4. That should improve soon as I get better handle on clutch. I have a mod coming for it plus a lockup. I did squeeze a 1.48 out of it Saturday but clutches started slipping so run was a bust.
With a 2mm kit and head/cams, should be able to run in neighborhood of times you're at now.
