clutch question

Default clutch question

i have a 03 cbr 600. im new to the drag racing scene. i have my bike lowered and stretched 6" so no wheelies for me. what is the suggested rpm range to leave off the line to get a good launch? thanks for the help.

I would start leaving around 8k and no more than 10k. Slip the clutch out. you should be 1 and 1 with the clutch and throttle.

thanks. i went this past friday to the track.. i would leave around 8k but the rear tire would just spin. what psi should i be running in the rear tire. i was still using 40psi

I normally run between 8 and 10 psi depending on how good the track is hooking up. Street tire pressure will definity make you sit and spin. What kind of tire are you running?

im using a dunlop qualifer right now. i just bought a stealth shinko today to test out when the other tires toast. my bikes not strictly drag,thanks for the help man. what tire do you suggest for drag?and psi for daily driving?

I run a 190 Shingko (I believe the stock tire for my bike is a 160 or 170), at 28 psi on the street, and that pressure seems to work very well at the track too. Im finding that the higher I launch, the better my 60' gets. Looking forward to getting a strap to help keep the front end down. With more practice, I could see leaving at 13 or 13,500, at the track, a Pro AMA rider said thats what I should be leaving at anyway. Time will tell..... [8D]

Redline, Let the clutch out as fast as you can..Good luck haha..no seriously don't do that...you will have a broke *** the next day
