Default White Rust???

I recently put on my new 2 Bros exhaust on my F4i and have been in Texas for the past month enjoying the warm weather down here. With the warmth and being fairly close to the coast, i have noticed that on some mornings when there has been dew in the air, my exhaust has what I call "white rust" on it from the moisture. I tried using a silver polish to remove it, however it still has a look like it has water spots on it. I called 2 Brothers and explained it to them, and they told me to try to contact a auto detailer to see what could be used to brighten up the finish. Thought i'd post here to see if anyone else has experienced this and what you used? TIA!

On the aluminum parts of the exhaust? If so that'd be oxidation and Mothers polish will clean it right up.

+1 on the Mothers polish.

And if it's REALLY bad you might be able to use some fine steel wool to knock the bad stuff down. I have used steel wool on mid-pipes and rotors, but not on the titanium canister. Yosh gives you a small brillo-type pad to re-buff the Ti and get it back to the factory look. So I am sure steel wool won't hurt anything...

You might want to try Turtle Wax rubbing compound, my Yoshi had the same thing, now the whole can sparkles.

Yes, make sure if you decide to use fine steel wool that you purchase the 0000 steel wool(0000 is the finest, least aggressive steel wool available). After using it with your choice of polishing compound you will notice some slight rub marks in the direct sunlight but they can pretty much be eliminates by following up the polish job with a final polish using simply a cotton towel with the polish compound of your choice. I have experimented with many aluminum polishing compounds and I have found that I like the best is Speedy Metal Polish hands down. It is very easy to apply and remove. Not looking to start any flames just sharing my personal experiences.....

Good Luck!

I also have some of this white oxidation on a few mechanical parts. I figured it was from hard water and road splashes. Anyone have any suggestions on cleaning them too?

I take the bracket off (or move it out of the way) about once a year to clean underneath it. Other than that, I clean it the way it is.
